| Allergies/Special Needs | Rosemary was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes almost 2 years ago. Since
then she has to have 2 injections of insulin every day. Her foster mother
helps her with the injections but she does the finger prick tests herself
which check her blood sugar. She has to be very careful about her meals
and snacks as it can be dangerous to miss a meal after getting her injection.
She misses candies and wishes she could eat as many as she wants but that’s
not possible anymore and her foster parents have to make sure she’s
eating the right foods. She is also allergic to penicillin. She has been sleep walking for several months now, it doesn’t happen every night but her foster parents have had to put stair guards in place so that she doesn’t fall down. She also has nightmares. She is usually quiet but is prone to getting upset especially if left with different caregivers. She is currently attending a therapist who feels she may have been exposed to domestic violence when she was younger. |
