Patrick is in Grade 3 and has a modified program in school.. He loves
to play video games but finds it difficult to play with other toys for more
than a few minutes. He finds school very difficult especially listening
to the teacher during reading and math. He even finds it hard to sit still
long enough to eat his lunch.
Things have improved since he was started on Ritalin.
Once in a while he gets migraine headaches which are associated with vomiting
and visual disturbance especially if he eats chocolate or doesn’t
get enough sleep . His mother used to get these as well. In fact sleeping
is a problem and he finds it difficult to fall asleep because he’s
thinking about so many things at once and he worries a lot also. Sometimes
when he’s worried or upset he hyperventilates and gets frightened.

Patrick is a very active boy who just loves sports. His favorite is wrestling
and he loves to play fight. Unfortunately, he can be a bit rough with children
smaller than him. He usually feels terrible when he realizes this. |
