| Medical Conditions | ADHD Drug addiction to crystal meth. Had been treated with Dexedrine but this was discontinued following complications with meth addictions. |
| Allergies/Special Needs | Crystal meth is powerfully addictive and she is at high risk of abusing
again. Withdrawal symptoms which can be more severe than heroin withdrawal
include fatigue, long, disturbed periods of sleep, irritability ,intense
hunger, moderate to severe depression,, psychotic reactions and anxiety
.Dexedrine ( dexamphetamine) and crystal meth ( methamphetamine) are both
members of the same class of drug. They are powerful stimulants and have
a high potential for addiction and abuse. A history of addiction to any drug is a contraindication to using Dexedrine. There would also be a significantly higher risk of overdose and complications if both were to be taken at the same time. Her history of addiction limits the use of Dexedrine and Ritalin for her ADHD, however there are newer stimulant alternatives which do not have abuse potential i.e Concerta and she needs referral to a psychiatrist to be further managed. |
| Medications | was taking Dexedrine, but removed because of complications with meth addictions |
| Family Doctor | just released from youth treatment facility |
