Angie's Diary
May 17, 2005
I got to go camping in my foster parents motorhome last weekend. We went to a campsite not far from here. There was a nice pool and games room that I spent a lot of time in. There were a few kids to hang around with.
I joined the Band Club at school and play my guitar. We are going a concert at a church in a few weeks and are practicing a lot for that.
We have another girls living with us right now. She is nice, and we play games together. She goes to a different school than me so I don't see her during the day. We are all going up to the cabin for the long weekend - yeah long weekend!! Going to a forestry camp to meet some of my foster parents friends for dinner one night if it doesn't rain.
Other than that, its all good. I have stayed out of trouble at school, except for the odd thing, but nothing serious.
Bye for now. Angie

I have just come home from staying with my Aunt and Uncle and their family. I got to miss some school, but I took work with me and I did it while I was there. It is nice to be back at school and see my new friends again.
They didn't forget about me, which I was scared they might. I will be caught up in my schoolwork after I finish my homework tonight.
It was fun to see my Auntie again. I did not remember her, as the last time I saw her I was very young. She has a lot of kids in her home, so it was fun and we did lots of neat things. I saw some really neat stuff at Metrotown and hope my foster mom will take me there soon. She works there sometimes and said maybe I could work there with her doing crafts with kids - that would be cool - I would even get paid!
I have to go to the Dr. to get more medications for my asthma. I hate going to the Dr., especially when I have to have a “check-up” which is this time - ugh!!! I only had one asthma attack when I was away. Now that it is getting nicer out my asthma is better.
I can't wait for the weekend, I am going to my friend's birthday party. We are going bowling and it is dark and the balls glow. It sounds like fun.

In three weeks a lot has happened. I am meeting more and more friends, and I am getting to hang out with them more after school. Last week two other kids in care came to stay with us for a week. We all went up to my foster parents cabin. I got to fish off the dock and we caught some fish, the water was too cold to swim, but I can’t wait to be able to.
My school has some stupid rules about how we dress at school and they sent my foster mom a letter about it. My foster mom talked to me about it and I said I will try and follow the rules.
I am going for a visit to my Aunt Marilou’s for a few days. I have not seen her forever and don’t even remember what she looks like. I will stay there for a few days. She has kids so that will be good. I will bring my guitar and play it for everyone.
I can’t wait for Spring Break. Yeah!! Holidays, no school! My friends are planning to do some stuff over the holidays which will be cool.

Angelina’s first entry into her diary
I have been with my new foster Mom and Dad for just over 2 weeks now. It has been good sometimes and not so good other times. I am trying hard to adjust to my new home, but sometimes I get depressed and angry. My new school is ok and I am meeting some new friends. They have a great music program and I have joined the band and am playing my guitar. It is close enough so I can walk which I like cuz I can yak to my friends when we walk to school and home after school. Some of my friends go swimming at the pool close by, but I don’t like swimming very much so I just watch them.
I got to go over to Victoria again with my foster mom and dad. She had meetings and I got to go shopping and walk along the waterfront. I really like the ferry ride, we even saw a bunch of seals swimming beside the ferry!
In a few days 2 other foster girls are coming to stay with us for a week. They are also teenagers. Sometimes they stay here when their foster parents need to go away. I hope they are nice and we can all hang out together.
If I get all my school work done and work hard, I get to miss some school because we are going to go away for a few days around Easter in my foster parents motorhome and camp, so I am working really hard at school.
